WEPS 88.9 FM — Varsity Football

Streamwood vs. Larkin · October 2, 2026

Role:  Solo Play-By-Play Announcer

On October 2, 2026, I called my first varsity football game on WEPS 88.9 FM, covering Streamwood against Larkin at Ray Haley Field.

As the solo play-by-play announcer, I described the action for radio listeners, including down and distance, field position, scoring plays, and game-clock updates. I also researched team records, matchup history, and stadium information to prepare for the broadcast.

This experience challenged me to paint a picture of the game for listeners who couldn't see the field while delivering accurate, engaging commentary throughout the broadcast.
