Kerwin first joined Gamers Club at Elgin High in March 2024 as a freshman. He collaborated and provided support to members for several years until May 2026. During the esports award ceremony, Kerwin received the Maroon Pride Award and the role of President from Coach James Keathley.

The Maroon Pride Award is awarded to the student who best embodies the culture, leadership, and character of Elgin High School and Maroon Esports. This individual consistently sets the standard for excellence and has the greatest positive impact on the program -- elevating teammates, strengthening team culture, and helping drive the current and future success and identity of Maroon.

His position is still ongoing, and he will update his impact on LinkedIn. 

In March 2024, he competed for the Varsity EA Football Club/FIFA as a solo competitor under the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), qualifying for the state tournament three times and winning two sectional championships. In January 2026, the Illinois High School Esports Association created an EA Football Club Online Solos League, and Kerwin joined, going undefeated in 9 matches and winning the State Championship in the EA Football Club 26 Solos Online Tournament.

He also competed with the Fortnite team since his sophomore year. First, he served as captain of the Junior Varsity team with six other competitors, leading the team in communication and teamwork. The following year, he served as captain of the Varsity team, leading the team to 4th Place overall in the IHSEA State Tournament.

Kerwin's passion for broadcasting made him realize there was room to make our productions more professional and engaging for the audience. In March 2026, the project officially started using Canva and brainstormed and workshop ideas with his creativity under the feedback from Coach Keathley and Coach Graff. 

The project is ongoing and will continue to dedicate the time to perfect every detail before the 2026-27 school year starts.
